This website was first set up in 2003 as a memorial to those who served on board Edinburgh during WWII. It comprises of images, documents, newspaper cuttings and even a copy Edinburgh's own magazine 'Buzz'.
The website will hopefully allow the user to gain an insite into life onboard during the mediteranean and artic convoys, her last voyage and the salvage of the £40m in gold bullion undertaken in the early 1980's.
I have been able to compile the site using photos and information provided by my grandfather, Fred Cowin, the Imperial War Museum, survivors, and their relatives.
If you have information, photos, or are a relative or survivor who would like to share a story, please use the contact form to get in touch.
